F1 Esports 2019 is Go!
Marcel, Daniele and Lucas prepare to contest the first event of the 2019 F1 Esports Pro Series
It’s that time again! The F1 Esports Pro Series is back – and it’s bigger and better than ever, with 109,000 participants competing in this year’s qualifying events.
As the competition enters its third year, Brendon Leigh has clinched both titles to date. But with a new season comes new opportunity – and the 2019 SportPesa Racing Point F1 Esports Team features an exciting new driver lineup hoping to put an end to the Briton’s reign.
Remaining with the Racing Point family for a second consecutive year, 21-year-old Marcel Kiefer is looking to build on his previous success after taking three podiums in 10 races last year, helping us secure P5 in the teams’ Championship.
Italian Daniele Haddad joins Marcel at the team following impressive performances in the AOR Sim Racing Series, while 2019 Draft Pick Lucas Blakeley completes our lineup for the coming campaign.
The first event of the 2019 season will consist of three rounds, with drivers tackling the Bahrain International Circuit for the first time in the competition, in addition to the Shanghai International Circuit and Baku City Circuit – the latter of which saw the closest finish in the series to date in 2018, with less than a tenth of a second separating first and second place.
The first event of the 2019 F1 Esports Pro Series kicks off at 19:00 BST, Wednesday 11 September 2019 at the Gfinity Esports Arena in London, where the field will get their first taste of action en route to the season finale in December, where the 2019 Champion will claim their share of the $500,000 jackpot.
