After a strong weekend in Hockenheim, Lance is anticipating a tight midfield battle in the second half of the season
"Hockenheim was a great result. We scored a lot of points, so we were really happy about that. I definitely think we took a step performance-wise. Looking at our pace throughout the weekend, Friday and Saturday, we were much more competitive than we had been at recent events, which is always a good thing. It was a great Sunday – but also a much better weekend overall.
"That being said, it's still very, very tight in the midfield and every tenth counts, so I'm sure it will be very track-dependent between now and the end of the season depending on which tracks suit our car more than others.
"Every year is unique in its own way. When I reflect on the last couple of seasons, I definitely think that the sport is much more competitive than it was two years ago. Looking back at 2017, when I came into the sport, there were much bigger gaps between the teams and at the time, coming into the weekend, you had a pretty good idea of where you'd be relative to the competition.
"Now, you really see tight margins and close racing between the teams in the midfield. It's definitely become much more competitive as a sport, which is a good thing. Hopefully in the near future we can start seeing battles between teams from first place onwards at every event."
