The team is seeking an exceptional candidate to excel in the position of Quality Assurance Manager.

This newly created position will be responsible for creating, developing and directing a first-class Quality Control function ensuring high-level standards are established and delivered. The successful candidate will hold a pivotal role liaising between Production and Trackside ensuring consistent and efficient delivery of targets.

You will work collaboratively across a number of cross-functional departments to instil best practice and continuously improving our approach to Quality Assurance across the team.

Leading highly skilled groups, you will look at identifying and implementing business improvements of workflows and processes ensuring our Inspections and NDT teams are constantly striving to achieve excellence in regard to quality, efficiency, reliability and performance.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of best-practice inspection preferably in F1.

You will also excel in generating respect and team-working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment; be self-motivated and able to motivate and lead others; have the ability to communicate new processes and procedures effectively across a range of departments developing achievable initiatives; proven track record of strong personnel management; an excellent level of communication skills; and a strong level of computer literacy.

Placement Sectors

Engine Systems

This group covers the design of engine and gearbox installation related components, both metallic and composite, for the cooling system, fuel system, and several auxiliary areas.

Mechanical Design

This group covers the design of both inboard and outboard suspension systems as well as driver controls such as pedal installations, brakes and steering systems. 

The group works closely with vehicle science and aerodynamics departments.

Research & Development

This group covers a mixture of design, data analysis and creative problem solving.

Your role will be to validate designs for performance and reliability improvements across composites, mechanical design and engine systems projects.

Aerodynamics Development

This group develops the Aerodynamics of our Formula One cars. 
Your role will expose you to the necessary training to be able to:

  • Contribute to analyses of CFD, WT and track data to help understand the aerodynamic problem and propose flowfield improvements.

  • Create the aerodynamic shapes to effect these flowfield improvements through high-level surfacing in CATIA.

  • Contribute to the workflow which enables these aerodynamic shapes to be tested in CFD and WT to validate performance.

  • Contribute to analyses of CFD, WT and track data to help understand the aerodynamic problem and propose flowfield improvements.

  • Create the aerodynamic shapes to effect these flowfield improvements through high-level surfacing in CATIA.

  • Contribute to the workflow which enables these aerodynamic shapes to be tested in CFD and WT to validate performance.

Each role will involve extensive use of CATIA CAD software although all necessary CAD training will be provided - as well as standard Microsoft Office software. 

The placement duration will be June 2021 until August 2022. 

Interviews will take place over October and November 2020
